Our budget range comes in a few sizes:

3 Tier - 10" 7" & 5" - 60 portions

2 Tier Deeper - 10" 6" - 60 portions

All cakes come fully decorated, assembled & do not need refrigerating. We do not offer a delivery service on this size range, cakes can be ready for collection the day before or the day of your wedding.

Where are you based?

Our address is: Gardners Bakery, 85 Harborough Road, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, NN2 7SL.

We have a physical store located at our bakery, Est. 1910, where all of our cakes are made to order.

Open hours: Tuesday-Friday 10am-3pm, Saturday 10am-2pm

How much notice do you need?

We recommend you order as soon as is convenient for yourself. 2-6 months is recommended for budget cakes, however we always try to accommodate last minute requests.

We have a wide range of budget cakes available to order online last minute - ready in as little as 5 working days!*

We take bookings up to 2 years in advance.

How much are your cakes?

We offer different size ranges to suit every wedding size. Price will depend on your cake size, as well as the level of work and time involved in your finished design. 

We price all of our designs in our Wedding Cake Gallery to make it easy for you, but if you would like to design your own cake, get in touch for a quote.

Do you have availability for my date?

We almost always have availability for your date, provided you give enough notice.

We have a team of over 10 at our bakery, all working together to make your cake extra special for your big day. 

What gets booked up quickly is our delivery slots for our larger, classic cake range, these are very limited and are on a first-come first-serve basis.

What makes them a budget cake?

The difference between our Budget range and our Classic range is the amount of portions. The quality of the sponge & decorations is exactly the same. 

There are a few key differences:

Budget range: Feeds up to 60 portions, Designs are limited, Flavours incur additional fees and Delivery is not available (not even for a fee).

Classic range: Feeds 90-150+ portions, More detailed designs, Most flavour options are included, Local delivery is available for some sizes (£).

How do I store my cake?

Keep your cake at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, not in a fridge, garage or cold room.

Please remind venues not to leave anywhere damp, too hot/cold or in the fridge. 

Make sure the cake is kept flat at all times. 

If you have any cake left, keep wrapped up in an airtight container for 3-5 days.

Cakes are best collected the day before or morning of your wedding.

Do you offer consultations?

If you're planning on popping into store to view some of our designs and discuss your ideas, we'd recommend calling ahead and booking a time slot.

This ensures a member of our team can give you the attention your big day deserves.
